There are numerous accounts of supernatural powers wielded by Taoist masters in the ancient world. Among the most interesting are stories of the ones who could control weather, even summoning powerful storms and rains at their command. The Taoists believed all things in the microcosm could be reflected in the macrocosm and vice versa. A change in the internal weather patterns could certainly affect the larger weather outside. There was the belief that all things in the natural world were merely an extension of the Self, and creating storms was simply about becoming one with the sky and clouds and moisture, manipulating them with the same intention and ease as we would wiggle the fingers at the end of our hands.
