I first become more aware of the nuances of the word “pivot” through my graduate studies in Chinese Medicine. One of the key and earliest of the tradition’s medical texts, the Ling Shu or Spiritual Pivot, dates back to the first century BC. It is said that the text itself is written only for those who have the “ling” or spiritual knowledge to apply its wisdom. Thus could “pivoting” itself actually be a secret alchemical step in our ascension process? If so, how do we define and then apply this potential to our own lives?

According to an online dictionary, pivot is “the central point, pin, or shaft on which a mechanism turns or oscillates” but as a verb, its subtleties begin to emerge in how we can apply the action in our daily lives:
