Enjoy this Q&A with Nashville-based astrologer, life coach and writer, Julie Starr!
Please give us a little background on yourself. How did New Earth Almanac cross your path?
I first "discovered" NEA in my Instagram feed! I was curious about the content, so then I checked out the website. I recognized a few of the contributor names, especially Suzie Kerr Wright. Suzie was the first person to read my birth chart, and it was her reading that inspired me to study astrology and, ultimately, become an astrologer myself. I decided to get a subscription to explore the content further. I enjoyed the breadth and depth of the content. I felt like the NEA might be something I would like to personally be part of, so then I decided to reach out to see if I could be a contributor and here I am!
What excites you about co-creating the New Earth and why is it important to you?
I love having the opportunity to join the spiritual conversation that New Earth Almanac offers. These are unusual and pivotal times. Granted, I'm sure folks have said that at many other times in history, but we are seriously on the precipice of an incredible paradigm shift. This is a time when we are called to raise our consciousness, individually and collectively, and make some serious decisions about how we are living our lives on planet Earth. To have the opportunity to share content that might help even one person feel more empowered or inspired or informed in some way brings me a sense of joy and satisfaction and a feeling of purpose.
Where or how do you find it easiest to connect with Spirit on a daily basis?
There are a couple of ways that I find easiest to connect with Spirit or the Divine. The first is through quiet and stillness, whether that is literally sitting in meditation or just sitting on the couch drinking a cup of tea. The second is spending time in nature, particularly on my daily walk. I feel such a sense of aliveness when I'm on my walk. I also usually find that a walk calms me when I'm worried or frustrated. Both of these activities have a similar thread which is mindfulness and contemplation. One is literal stillness and the other is using movement to find stillness. I guess it all comes back to stillness!
Anything you’d like to add?
Working with the staff at NEA has been a terrific experience. Everyone is supportive and encouraging and open to new ideas. It has been such a pleasure to contribute and to have the opportunity to join in the conversation. To anyone who is considering a subscription, while I may seem biased, I can honestly say that if you are someone looking for inspiring and uplifting content that helps you in your own spiritual journey, check out the New Earth Almanac.
