Dia Dhuit go leir a chàirde ò Eireann!

(Pronunciation: Dee-a guit go lare a char-de oh Air-in)

(Translation: Hello friends everywhere from Ireland!)

It’s a joy to connect from here. I returned a few weeks ago to this ancient mystical land. I don’t consider Ireland just a country but view It as a sentient being with an ancient genetic footprint which holds and exudes such profound wisdom.

What I’m seeing more and more of, and as I reconnect back to my roots here, is the reverence for and revival of our ancient customs, traditions and belief systems. There is a re-awakening, especially amongst our younger demographic of our ancient shamanic, indigenous ways. The blessing of time that COVID brought for many was to reassess their priorities and reexamine their spirituality. There has been a revival of interest in our holy wells, which are such an important staple of the landscape.

I am seeing everywhere a beautiful, heartfelt honoring of the Divine Feminine manifesting in sacred women’s circles. There is an acknowledgment of the deep wounding that has occurred against our women and girls historically, and there is emerging a newfound respect and honoring of the feminine in all genders.

In this Celtic Kirtan chant, I honor the Divine Feminine and I pay homage to the powerful and very much revered Goddess Brigid, the Matron Saint of Ireland. She is the keeper of the Sacred Flame, the Goddess of fertility and regeneration and patron to the arts. She has many holy wells in her honor throughout the land. She is celebrated during the Celtic festival of Imbolc on February 1st.

Here I combine a most beautiful Kundalini mantra in Gurmukhi, Adi Shakti (primal force of the Universe) with Solas Brìde (the light/flame of Brigid):

ADI SHAKTI / SOLAS BRIDE

Adi Shakti (x3) Namo Namo

Aw-dee shock-tee, na-mow, na-mow

Sarab Shakti (x3) Namo Namo

Sereb-a  shock-tee, na-mow, na-mow

Pritham Bhagvati (x3) Namo Namo

Prit-am bag-vat-tee, na-mow, na-mow

Kundalini, Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo

Koon-da-leen-ee, mada shock-tee, na-mow, na-mow

Solas Bride

Sul-is Breed-a

Translation:

I bow to the Primal Power

I bow to the all encompassing power and energy

I bow to that through which Source creates

I bow to the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother power.

The Light/Flame of Brigid
